Welcome!
My name is Lucy Luna, I’m originally from Mexico and I’ve been living in Los Angeles for the past decade. Writing is my biggest passion, and I’m very fortunate to be able to write for a living. I work in film and TV, and in my spare time, I love cooking, working out, and spending time with loved ones. I also enjoy reading, playing board games, and going to concerts! I’m obsessed with plants and kitties.
The Luna Tales started as a newsletter about writing—specifically, my writing journey. But it’s evolved into a more personal expression that blends poetry, essays, and reflections on what it means to be human. It’s an honest diary that I hope will be refreshing, inspiring, or at least entertaining.
Stay up-to-date
You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox, so make sure you subscribe! It’s free.
Do I need to download the Substack app to subscribe?
No. All you have to do is enter your email address and my newsletter will be emailed to you.
Difference between following and subscribing
To follow people, you need to create an account and download the app. Following allows you to see my activity, such as post likes or notes (which are shorter posts—think “tweets”). However, following me won’t ensure that you receive my newsletter in your inbox. You’ll have to log in to the app and check for new posts or enable app notifications. If Substack is not something you use, or if you tend to ignore notifications from apps that aren’t your main ones, then there’s a good chance you’ll miss my newsletter altogether.
Subscribing is different; it means you get my newsletter delivered directly to your inbox, and you can read it right there. You don’t need to download the app or create an account.
I definitely recommend creating an account and finding more people to follow/read if you want to explore Substack. However, if you’re only here for this newsletter, it might be best to keep it simple and just subscribe. Don’t worry, I won’t spam you! :)
Pledges
The Luna Tales is completely free, however, Substack offers the option to make pledges. This feature allows you to pledge to become a paid subscriber if I ever choose to turn on paid subscriptions.
Welcome, and enjoy!
